Researchers have found that paediatric patients who listened to the songs had a significant reduction in pain after a major surgery. Guess what, they listened to? Songs by Rihanna and Taylor Swift, this research is very useful because certain medications that relieve pain can cause breathing problems in children. And caregivers may limit the amount of the prescribed pain medication. At this juncture, audio therapy proves beneficial.

The good news about audio therapy is that, it does not have any side effects and quite literally inexpensive. The researchers say that if you don’t think about pain you will not feel the pain. This is kind of cheating the brain and trying to refocus mental channels onto something soothing and positive.

The scientists say that this audio therapy works extremely well, irrespective of those suffering from low or high intensity pain score. It is also beneficial for patients who undergo surgery that does not require an overnight hospital stay. The best part is that the patients can continue the therapy, on their own terms. How good is that?
