Memories For Life

“Share your #MemoriesForLife like I’ve done at BlogAdda for HDFC Life.”
My dream of a complete family is a husband, wife, son and a daughter. After marriage, I was in the family way and God blessed me with a son.  Four years passed and again we were overjoyed to find out that I was in the family way.

The pregnancy test which we did at home turned out positive. We visited the gynecologist, she took some scans and advised me that she has her own doubts about the baby’s heartbeat. She advised me not to get too excited.

I was sitting alone in my room and I said a word of prayer, begging God to help me out. Miracles do happen!

Instantly I could feel a tiny movement in my tummy, I could feel something beating in my tummy, and it was twirling fast. Something similar to that of a butterfly flapping its wings.

Even today, I get goosebumps when I think about that miraculous moment. The doctor confirmed the pregnancy, the pregnancy was fine. For my first kid, I had a hard labor for about 10 hours.

I hoped this could repeat itself. But by God’s mercy, I got admitted to a nearby hospital, within few minutes the baby, my little girl was born. The doctor had to rush because everything happened in a matter of few seconds.

Shalini, as we call, is now 8 years old and recently celebrated her birthday. A warm and friendly person she is the life of the party. The husband, I and my son are quite reserved by nature. She pulls us out of our shells and makes us live in the moment.
Once, as a little girl, she saw me making tasty omelets. She asked me all about the eggs.

I gladly explained it to her adding a little of the fairy magic stuff. I told her that some eggs have fairies living inside of it. And only an experienced person like me could find out those eggs.

She asked me whether I had any fairies to be my friends. I did not give it a serious thought and enjoyed this whole conversation. I said, “Yes Shalu, I have some beautiful fairies as my friends.”

She gave a thoughtful nod and went out of that place. The next day guess what happened?
The whole house was smelling of raw eggs. This little girl had broken all the eggs to see whether fairies lived inside of them. Whew! It was all my fault.

I can keep on telling so many interesting stories. This little girl pulls us out from our mundane lives and adds a touch of magic in her own way.
