Tender and buttery, these fresh scones burst with fresh juicy blueberries. Healthier than traditional recipes, you can make these scones in 30 minutes. They contain no sugar or refined flour and have nearly 5g of proteins.

To start with, you’ll need whole white wheat flour, which gives a lighter texture and flavor, and only 2 tbsps of butter. Instead, you can use coconut oil, but the taste will differ. Likewise, the other ingredients include nonfat Greek yogurt, nonfat milk, and some juicy fresh blueberries.

Healthy Pumpkin Scones

Wonderfully moist, gently spiced, and sweet these healthy pumpkin scones are made with whole wheat flour and no refined sugar and butter. These scones make you come asking for more.

Skin and steam the pumpkins to add to flour; if you use the canned pumpkins, the mixture may become pretty soft and trickier to work with as canned ones contain—a lot of moisture. So you’ll need to add a bit more flour.

The ingredients include whole wheat pastry flour and aromatic spices such as cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg, allspice, and ginger. To pep up the flavor, add cranberries that are sweetened with apple juice to avoid refined sugar. Also, ingredients such as pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla, and melted coconut oil go into this recipe. For frosting, you’ll need butter, cream cheese, and maple syrup.

After baking the scones for 12 minutes, cool them completely and pipe the frosting over the scones.

Nuts and Banana Vegan Scones

Love bananas? Then why not try some scones using bananas? Feel free to play with this recipe; instead of butter, you can try coconut oil. Kate says coconut oil is much easier to mix into flour than butter. Also, you could swap other nuts or leave them out altogether.

Likewise, you could supplement whole Spelt flour instead of whole wheat flour. For glazing, if you want to avoid processed sugar, try topping the scones with pecan butter or nut butter and finish it off with a drizzle of maple syrup and honey.
