Resveratrol occurs naturally in red wine, red grape juice, peanuts, and mulberries and also in some Chinese herbs. Wikipedia says resveratrol is produced naturally in several plants when under attack by pathogens, bacteria and fungi.

Resveratrol is rich in antioxidants which protect the body against cancer and heart diseases. It is highly acclaimed in health circles because research studies have found that it has anti aging and anti obesity properties. It boosts the health of the body by keeping the heart young.

Health benefits of resveratrol  

Resveratrol reduces inflammation and prevents the oxidation of bad cholesterol and prevents formation of clots which lead to heart attack. It limits the spread of cancer and triggers the process of cancer cell death.

It protects against Alzheimer’s disease by protecting nerve cells from damage and buildup of plaque. It helps prevent insulin resistance which is said to be a precursor to diabetes.
