Researchers at the Banaras Hindu University have found out that it contains many antioxidants. Scholars from the University of Leipzig have found Ashwagandha increases the cognitive ability and memory of the brain.

Studies have proved that Ashwagandha reduces anxiety. It increases overall health and stamina and thus improves sexual health. Ashwagandha lowers cortisol levels. It has anti-microbial properties. It is believed that Ashwagandha is very helpful during intense physical activity such as exercise. It promotes better oxygen flow to the muscles and increases strength and endurance.

But it also has some side effects on the digestive system. People suffering from thyroid and liver problems and pregnant women should be very cautious about it. It is always better to consult your doctor before taking any supplements.
