Stunning Beauty Benefits of Coconut Milk

The milk obtained from the tropical coconut fruit has a broad range of health and beauty benefits. In this article, we’ll specifically deal with its beauty benefits.

Coconut milk is a liquid stored within coconut meat. Mature coconuts are better producers of coconut milk. It is higher in saturated fatty acids and calories.

Coconut milk nutrition

Coconut milk contains highly beneficial fat called lauric acid, which is a medium-chain fatty acid. And you know what? The body absorbs the lauric acid rather quickly and uses it to produce energy. How awesome is that?

Coconut milk is an excellent source of proteins, manganese, copper, phosphorous, magnesium, iron, and potassium, and of course, sugar and fat.

How to prepare homemade coconut milk?

Crack open the coconut using a heavy knife, sturdy cleaver, or hammer. Strain the water out. Remove the kernel from its shell by hitting the back of the coconut with a hammer.

Wash the coconut meat, then cut it into small pieces. Grind it into a coarse mixture. Add ¾ cup of water and blend the mixture for 2 minutes. Strain the milk using a muslin cloth. Press the pulp gently to extract the remaining milk; the resulting liquid is the thick coconut milk.

If you want thin milk, then grind the flesh again using 1 cup of water and remove the juice. Bottle the milk and store it in the fridge for 4-5 days or in the freezer for up to two months.

If you’re unable to prepare coconut milk, you can go in for the canned variety.
